I'm Not Seeing It

Do you? This is Fortissima 1776, also known as Stars and Stripes. Well, I see the stripes but not the stars. Or am I just blind? I started this sock this morning out of curiosity (and the fact I did have a set of empty needles). Sometimes you just can't fight temptation or startitis. I doubt I'll get them done by the 4th, it will be too hot to wear them anyway. This sock is going so fast, I'm to the heelflap already.
The second Fishermen's Sock is making good progress too, 13 more rows on the leg and it will be heelflap time for it too. I plan to work on that for a while today, and hopefully get at least to the gusset if not through the decreases. Maybe I can get a 3rd pair finished by the end of the month!!
Back to knitting. More later.

You go girl. You are such a good sock knitter, and here I haven't finished one pair this month. They look great, but I am with you, I don't see the stars.

I've seen this yarn and wondered how it looks knit up. I don't see stars either.

Even though I don't see the stars (not even without my glasses)I think it is still is a cool (maybe I should say hot...after all July tends to be hot)yarn.
By the way, your June entry into Togs for Toys is up...Thank you so much! I love the outfit and wish I had one at home just like it.

I guess your mind just makes stars (with stripes) even though your eyes see blobs?
Thnaks for stoppiong by my bog and you're right, my mom is totally hooked on the socks now.

I think when some people say 'Stars and Stripes', they are just meaning 'patriotic' or 'red, white, and blue'.......the socks are FUN and I would definitely think you were being patriotic in wearing them! It was 47 degrees at my house today and I always wear wool socks to the fireworks :-) But then, fireworks are banned this year so I won't be wearing them this year.

Oh I see them! you have to suspend your disbelief a little. I designed my own 4th socks one year for a raffle at work. They were won, quite appropriately by someone who was becoming a citizen at the time. I Know how hard the star thing is. Yours are great. Keep it up

Love your socks. I did the same pair and the stars are not really stars. Both socks turned out different. You can see them on my blog. You do great work!
