Second sock finished

I finished the second pink Regia baby sock. It was a very slow day at work, so I was able to get to the foot done there. I just finished kitchnering the toe and weaving in the ends. Now I'm off to make more.
Have a great weekend.
For Shelley, here is pattern,
blueberry waffle socks
It is very easy. I used 36 stitches for these.

Not A Lot of Knitting This Week

Work is interfering with my knitting. But I did manage to knit 1 full and 1 1/2 pr of baby socks. They are made with Regia Cotton Surf. I like this yarn, it is so soft. Just right for baby feet (and adult's as well). I think a pair of the pink is in my future. I knit both pr with the Blueberry Waffle pattern. I'll let you know when the second sock is done ( I have started it).
Now I'm going to get some sleep.

As Promised

Here they are together. Sorry about the poor quality of the photo but it was 1:30am.

Update

Second "Sockie" done, I'll post the picture I took at 1:30 this morning, tonight when I get home from work.

I Just Had To Share

I finished the first of the "Sockies" from Socks, Socks, Socks (Sx3) and it is beyond adorable. Even if I do say so myself. On to the second one, but I just had to share the first.

More Baby Socks

I've knit 3 more pair of baby socks this weekend. They are fun and fast!! All these are knit with Lion Brand, the pink ones are Jelly Bean Stripe, the purple is Purple Print. The first Jelly Bean pr is knit in the Waffle Rib (SKS), the purple is Thuja (knitty.com) and the second Jelly Bean is "trek's" Rune pattern. I'm casting on a pair of Sockies from the Socks, Socks, Socks book that should be fun.
Have a great rest of the weekend!!

Aren't These the Cutest Things

Here are some baby socks I've knit this month. Makes me wish I had some chubby baby feet to put in them..... Ok, that moment has passed. I will be making more and posting pictures as they come off the needles.

Snow Day and Who's Got the Button

So, I drop the girl child off at school at 6:45am and an hour later the school district decides the weather is too bad and they are closing for the day. It is now 9:25 and the bus still has not brought her home. I will be a little more patient before I call the transportation office. It is very hilly here in our neck of the woods, so please Lord, no accidents.
On to the button thing. If anyone reading this can tell me how to capture the cute little buttons so many of you have on your blogs and get them on my blog I would appreciate it. TIA!
I'm working on the heel flap of the Rib and Cable sock and I'm on the gusset decreases on the Cherry Tree Hill sock. So, progress continues. I'm still deciding what to put on those empty needles. More later.
Have a safe day and wear your wooly socks!!

Can't Show but Do Tell

I have just finished the secret socks for my daughter. I will post a picture of them after I have given them to her (her birthday is 4/11). I have made some progress on the second sock in the Cherry Tree Hill and I have re-re-restarted the Rib and Cable Socks (they look like a more promising fit this time).
So, now I have an empty set of size 1's (and my sister(Monica) says it's a sin to have empty needles, and she is my knitting guru so I have to follow her teachings). What to start? I will have to see what yarn and pattern talks the loudest to me. I'll keep you posted.

Lather, Rinse,Repeat..aka: Knit, Rip, Repeat

I'm beginning to think my yarn wraps should read like a shampoo bottle. I was to the heel flap on the Rib and Cable Socks and thought I better try it on, and of course it didn't fit. So I ripped that baby, restarted it with 66 stitches on size 2's... too big. Ripped it again, re-restarted with 60 stitches on size 2's .... didn't like the way it looked stretched...so ripped it again. I will restart this again, and I think it will be with 70 stitches on size 1's. I love Nancy Bush's designs, but I don't have skinny feet and legs. And at 2am my mind doesn't want to do math to figure out how I need to change a pattern to fit my full figure feet!! There is nothing else to report and no new pictures. So as the Weasley twins say in GOF, "Everybody go back to their knitting".

Currently OTN

This will be loaded with pictures of what I currently have OTN.
This of course is Jaywalker. I'm knitting it with Schaefer Yarn Anne, my sister gave it to me for Christmas.

This is Rib and Cable sock from the fall 2005 Interweave Knits magazine. The yarn is Regia 4 ply color 5033. I added one stitch to each of the non cable knit columns for 66 stitches. Keeping my fingers crossed that that will be enough to fit my feet and legs.

This sock is from SKS (Sensational Knitted Socks), 4-stitch Reticulated pattern #5. Knit with Knit Picks Essential- Burgandy and Knit Picks Simple Stripes- Vineyard. 72 stitches for the cuff with an increase to 80 stitches for the leg. I knit the cuff on size 1's and the leg is being knitted on size 2's.

This sock is also from the SKS book. It is Stansfield #10 (page 48). Knit with Cherry Tree Hill Potluck, 66 stitches on size 1's. I finished the first sock lastnight and started the second sock right away (aren't I good? no SSS on this sock). I have secret surprise socks that I will post (after I give them to my daughter for her Sweet 16 birthday).

There are a few more projects that I don't have pictures of that I will post later. My son's cable sweater ( I swear I'll have it done by This Christmas). A couple of Zig-Zag scarves, a shrug (for daughter) and other stuff not necessarily knit related.

Have a great day!! Karen

First Post

Well, I've done it. I've joined the blogging community. Hope I don't disappoint. This post will be followed up with many pictures and descriptions of what I've finished knitting and what I'm currently working on (mostly socks). I also sew, smock, and do machine embroidery ... so you will also get a taste of that too.
My sister (Monica) taught me how to knit socks a little over a year ago and I'm hooked. Or should I say obsessed. My husband says that's all I do 24/7... and even though that isn't true, I wouldn't mind trying.
So that's it for the first post ... short and a little mundane. More to come.....
